This is a dumb comment, but...

On paper, Christianity is dominating the world... Christendom has allowed for masses to come to know Christ, and even in oppressive environments like China, the Holy Spirit is on the move...

What does it mean when more than 50% of the world becomes the "unreasonable"? do the table turn? Does what was once "countercultural" become the norm? History would suggest this, again with the onset of Christendom (Constantine in the 4th century ongoing until the present) as societies became built around the Church... but we see today that even the "Christian" nation, the USA is not quite what we would consider to be actually pursuing Christ and living out these Christian ideals...

I don't know if there actually ended up being a question in that...

maybe just: Within the group of the "unreasonable" is there an unfortunate division of those who are "ultra unreasonable... perhaps even unruly?!" who continue to push for a deeper understanding/expression of braking the mold?

I love this post! I share your feelings on community--it's so good to be known and to be home where people know you. When you're away, you have to totally depend and trust God's knowing you, and that is so hard. Sometimes you need the comfort of community to remind you of that, too. :)

Family...what a wonderful thought. As I prepare to return to SD next week and see my family of origin, I am also leaving my "Japanese" family and my "missionary" family. I also have a "college days" family and a "Texas years" family. It is amazing how God places the people we need right in our path. I am so thankful for each of these families.
I am also thankful that you are finding family where you are and seeing God's provision. Sounds like a sweet family you enjoyed time with last weekend:)

All I can say is WOW! I remember working in a secular social work environment, but I did not have the same reaction from people when they found out I was a Christian. Most people were hostile. God is doing great things quickly through you Julianne. He is so GREAT! And, why should we be suprised at that? But, it seems we always are. I'm praying for you. We love you very much!

Shan! I look forward to it as well! I'll be flying from my debrief in chicago right to josh's wedding, but hopefully we can have some down time in the midst of all of that! I hope the moving is going well for you!

I'm at a conference right now, and Joel Houston of Hillsong shared this verse in a session on Worship and Justice...

Ahh, the mystery of courage. What a great phrase. As I prepare to leave for home assignment in July, I will step out in courage with you. I look forward to hearing more about the right now unknown joys and struggles of this summer. (The first being this week with the twins! I'll be praying:)
